Proyecto: Calle El Hatillo - Corralitos

2026
Tegucigalpa, M.D.C., Honduras

Descripción del proyecto

Soil stabilization was carried out on a 100-meter-long, 7-meter-wide section in the El Hatillo - Corralitos residential area. The project began with a soil analysis that identified the characteristics of the existing material and defined the most suitable treatment to improve its performance. Laboratory results: The soil studies showed that the on-site material had the proportion of clay fines needed to respond favorably to the ENFIRME Stabilizer, which allowed for significant projected improvements in several aspects: Lower plasticity: the treated soil is expected to considerably reduce its sensitivity to moisture changes. Higher bearing capacity (CBR): the stabilized soil gains resistance to vehicular traffic, even during the rainy season. Less swelling: the treatment minimizes soil expansion when absorbing moisture, providing greater dimensional stability. Better waterproofing: the ability of water to infiltrate the road layers is reduced, protecting the structure over the long term.
